Friday, December 27 - The January gas contract dropped by 20.1 cents today as it expired. But even with those lower gas prices up front, power prices actually rallied. Why? Because weather models are picking up steam on an upcoming cold snap. So, while the gas market had a wild ride today, the result was lower winter power prices in ERCOT.
